FIX · WRITTEN BY AN OPERATOR, NOT A WEB STUDIO

How do I put an online booking page on my trades website?

You add a booking flow that takes the job: the customer picks a service and a time, answers the questions you'd ask anyway, and lands as a confirmed job on your calendar. No back-and-forth, no voicemail tag. It works because it books while you're up a ladder with your gloves on, which is exactly when the good enquiries come in.

A booking page beats a contact form

A contact form starts a conversation; a booking page closes one. The form says "tell us about your job and we'll get back to you", which drops the enquiry into the same phone-tag loop that loses jobs. A real booking flow lets the customer choose a service and a time and confirm it, so the enquiry finishes as a job on your calendar instead of a message you have to chase down between sites.

A contact form asks the customer to wait for you. A booking page lets them hire you. On a trades site, that is the whole difference.

It takes the job while you're on the tools

The reason booking beats calling is timing. The good enquiries land when you can't pick up: mid-job, up a ladder, or at 8pm after the customer got home from work. A booking page is open every one of those hours. It captures the job while your hands are full or you're asleep, then hands you a confirmed slot in the morning, so the work you used to lose to a missed call just books itself.

Ask the right questions at booking time

A booking page earns its keep twice: it takes the job, and it collects what you need to do it. Build the questions you'd ask on the phone straight into the flow, address, access, service type, photos, so the confirmed booking arrives with the detail already attached. That kills the follow-up call and means you turn up prepared instead of ringing back to ask which side the meter box is on. See a live one in action on the booking demo.

Built into a site that captures, not just displays

A booking page only works if the site around it is built to convert, not just to look tidy. The button has to be where the customer already is, the flow has to load fast on a phone on site, and the confirmation has to be instant. That is a website-build job, not a plugin you bolt on and hope. I build trades sites with booking baked into the structure from the start; the approach is on the website builds page.

Common questions

Can I control which jobs and times are bookable?

Yes. You set the services on offer, the hours you'll take, and how far ahead people can book. It only ever offers slots you're actually willing to run, so nothing lands on the calendar that you didn't allow.

Will it clash with the job app I already use?

No. The booking flow can feed the confirmed job into ServiceM8, Tradify or your calendar, so it adds a front door to the tools you already run rather than replacing them.

Do I need a whole new website for it?

Not always, but it works best when the site is built to capture. If your current site is a brochure, a booking button on it will underperform one built into a page designed to convert. The booking demo shows the difference.
